How to write Jumia product titles and descriptions that sell
Last updated: 7 October 2026
Good listings help shoppers find your product in Jumia search and trust it enough to buy. Use this checklist for every product.
1. The Jumia product title formula
Brand + Product type + Key feature + Size/Capacity + Color
- Good: “Tecno Spark 20 – 6.6" – 128GB – 8GB RAM – Black”
- Avoid: “Best phone!!! cheap original new”
- Put the words shoppers type first. Skip ALL CAPS, emojis and words like “best” or “cheap”.
2. Structure your product description
- Short description: 2–3 sentences on what it is and who it is for.
- Detailed description: 3–5 short paragraphs covering use, benefits and what is in the box.
- Write for the shopper’s language: Arabic for Egypt and North Africa, French for Morocco and West Africa, English for Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana and Uganda.
3. Key features (bullet points)
List 5–8 concrete benefits. Start each with the feature, then the benefit: “5000mAh battery – lasts all day”.
4. Choose Jumia keywords
- Use the product name shoppers actually search, plus local variations (e.g. “téléphone portable”, “هاتف”).
- Place the main keyword in the title and first sentence of the description.
- Never stuff keywords or add other brands’ names.
5. Specifications: only verified facts
Wrong specs lead to returns and bad reviews. Only list what is on the box, label or official sheet.
6. Photo tips
- White or plain background, good light, product filling the frame.
- Show the front, back and label — these also help ListiQ read details accurately.
Do it in one minute
ListiQ applies all of the above automatically from your product photo.
